Traditional shaped bobbins for making Idrija lace. The Slovenian style lace is unique to the country and continued to develop while behind the iron curtain. Located just below Austria the Idrija area is a small area in the center of Slovenia, approximently 20 miles by 20 miles. The bobbins are 6" long and 3/4" in diameter. I try to make pairs of the same wood - Walnut, Oak, Cherry or Maple.
